How to convert M4A to MP3
- Download nxtconvertIt’s free for macOS, Windows and Linux. Install it like any other app.
- Add your M4A filesDrag them onto the window, or click Browse files. You can add as many as you like.
- Choose MP3Pick MP3 in the format menu next to each file, or use “Set all to” for the whole batch.

M4A and MP3
M4A is AAC audio in an MP4 container, the format of iTunes purchases and iPhone voice memos.
MP3 is the most compatible audio format there is. Every device and car stereo plays it.
In Settings you can pick the bitrate, from 128 to 320 kbit/s, and whether to keep tags such as artist and album.
