How to convert JPG to AVIF
- Download nxtconvertIt’s free for macOS, Windows and Linux. Install it like any other app.
- Add your JPG filesDrag them onto the window, or click Browse files. You can add as many as you like.
- Choose AVIFPick AVIF in the format menu next to each file, or use “Set all to” for the whole batch.
- ConvertPress Convert. Your AVIF files appear in Downloads/nxtconvert, and the originals stay untouched.
JPG and AVIF
JPG is the most widely supported photo format. It compresses well and opens everywhere, from phones to printers to email.
AVIF is the newest web image format. It is often half the size of JPG at similar quality and is supported by all current browsers.
In Settings you can choose the image quality (Maximum to Smallest) and whether to keep or strip metadata such as camera details and location.
Why convert on your computer?
